Our Hostels provide different types of accomodation. There are single (Select)and single (basic) rooms (Type A+ and A), two bed shared rooms (Type B+(Select)and B(Basic)) 3 bedded rooms (Type C)and dormitories of 4 or 5 beds (type D). You can also choose between the following levels of catering:

  Subheading - Terms and Conditions
1. Weekly Rates for room type A, B, C and D
Applicable to residents booking for periods of 14 nights or more and are paid at least one week in advance.
A £100 deposit is required on booking on arrival. Residents who book on the weekly rate but leave prior to the completion of a 14 night period will forfeit their deposit.

1a. Weekly Rates for room type A1, A+ and B+
Applicable to residents booking for periods of 28 nights or more and are paid at least one week in advance (other rates and terms available for booking of less than 28 days).
A £100 deposit is required on booking on arrival. Residents who book on the weekly rate but leave prior to the completion of a 28 night period will forfeit their deposit.

2. Deposit for room type A, B, C and D
The deposit of £100 is intended to cover any breakages or damage caused to LHA property or equipment or as listed below. The deposit or part thereof may be used in payment or part payment of the charges for the last week occupancy.

Notice. One week’s notice of departure is required. Failure to give due notice will lead to the deposit being retained as payment or part payment. Residents booking on the weekly rate (see 1 above) will forfeit their deposit if they leave prior to the completion of a 14 night period.

2a. Deposit for room type A1, A+ and B+
The deposit of £100 is intended to cover any breakages or damage caused to LHA property or equipment or as listed below. The deposit or part thereof may be used in payment or part payment of the charges for the last week occupancy.

3. Daily Rate
The daily rate is charged to those intending to stay with LHA or LHAS. The full cost of the stay must be paid on booking or arrival.


4. Payment
Weekly rates are to be paid at least one week in advance not later than 20.00 hrs on the Friday of that week. Please do not become in arrears. To do so will mean 5% surcharge and the risk of termination of residency.

Please ensure that you receive an official receipt for any monies you pay us.

Most major credit or debit cards are accepted and credit card payments can be made in UK Sterling or Euros. Sterling cheques drawn on UK banks and Euro cheques will be accepted if supported by a banker’s card up to the value stated on the card. Cheques and money orders should be made payable to “the LHA Ltd” or “LHA Services Ltd” as appropriate and crossed A/C payee. The facility of payment by cheque may be withdrawn if the cheque is not honoured. Travellers cheques will also be accepted providing they are supported by the owner’s passport.


5. Keys
On arrival you will be issued with a key(s) and/or a passcard to your bedroom and the House front door. A deposit of £20 to cover both key(s) and passcard will be levied on arrival. The deposit will be returned to you when you hand in the key(s) and/or a passcard before 10am on final departure. Where replacement key(s) and/or a passcard are required during the course of your stay, these will be provided on payment of £5.00 per item.


6. Health and Safety
It is very hazardous to interfere with gas, electrical circuits, fire equipment or warning signs.
Your safety and that of all occupants of the House may be endangered.
Please familiarise yourself with the location of fire extinguishers, alarm points and routes of escape.
Fire drills will be carried out on a regular basis and your co-operation in the events will be greatly appreciated.
Please ensure you observe all designated non-smoking areas.
LHA accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to your personal possessions. Please ensure that your personal possessions are covered by personal possessions insurance. Details available at reception.

7. Your Room
All rooms are regularly cleaned and the task of our cleaners is considerably eased if you leave your room reasonably tidy. Please avoid leaving valuables or money in your room, etc. You are advised to insure personal belongings against theft. LHA accept no responsibility whatsoever for theft or damage to residents personal belongings.
Pin boards are provided to avoid damage to walls from posters and the like. Please do not display any material likely to cause offence to other residents or members of staff.


8. Mail
Post addressed to you will be held in an open rack near the Manager’s office. If you expect an item of value through the post please let the manager know. It may then be held in the office.


9. Medical
(a) You are advised to register with a doctor as soon as possible. The House Manager will assist you.
(b) If you suffer from a disability and in particular if you have to take particular drugs please inform the House Manager. The information will be kept in strict confidence and may well be essential in the event of an emergency.
(c) Please ensure that the entry on your House Reception Form records the name and address of a relative to be informed in case of an emergency. Any changes should be notified to the House Manager as soon as possible.


10. Security
Do not let people into the House unless you are sure they have a right to be there. When in doubt seek the advice of a member of staff.


11. Visitors
Non residents should leave the house by 23:00 hours.
Visitors to your room are not permitted between the hours of 23:00 – 10:00.
For reasons of security and in case of fire, you must inform the Manager of the presence of visitors (other than fellow residents), in your room at all times.


12. Conditions of Agreement to Provide Accommodation:
We hope that you will have a happy stay with us. We hope to interfere with your enjoyment of our facilities as little as possible. However, you are living in a community with residents from many nationalities, of different ages and varying interests. Tolerance and a sense of humour are valuable and are backed by our Conditions of Agreement to Provide Accommodation (The Rules). These Rules have been prepared as a result of our experience and with legal advice. They are in effect a code of conduct by which any reasonable person might be expected to live and rarely impinge on the lives of the majority of our residents. The rules and any agreements / contracts arising therefrom are subject to English Law.
